Emmanuel's Visit Day 6

I was so exited to wake up in the Ahwanee Hotel! I ran to the next room down and knocked. Emmanuel opened the door looking bright and cheery as ever. " How did you sleep?" I asked. "I slept great!" answered Emmanuel. "How about you?" "Awesome!"
After everyone woke up we all went down to a gourmet breakfast. Then we packed up and set out. I was sad and I could tell Emmanuel was sad too. We were dropping him off at the airport on our way back, but we both knew that we had seized the day and that we would keep in touch and see each other soon.
We got to the air port in the blink of an eye. "Bye Emmanuel!" I shouted "Bye!"

Emmanuel's Visit Day 5

On the morning of the last full day of our trip, the ground was soggy and muddy. It was a good thing we had rain-flys on our tents, or else we would be soaked and shivering. "How are you doing Emmanuel?" I asked. "Not so great." he answered. " My tent's rain-fly blew off in the wind, and now everything in my tent is wet, including me." "Oh no! I'm so sorry! " I exclaimed. "Mom! Did you hear that! Emmanuel's rain-fly blew off in the night and now everything in his tent is wet!" My mom freaked out when she heard that. "Thats horrible!" Then, a look crossed my mom's face like she'd made up her mind about something. " That's it, we're staying at the Ahwanee tonight." " Yay!" I shouted, jumping up and down. But then a look crossed Emmanuel's face. "But isn't the Ahwanee Hotel very expensive?" "Yes," my mom replied. "But it's worth it. We can't have our guest uncomfortable." Emmanuel tried to refuse but my mom's mind was made up. We were going to the Ahwanee Hotel.

My dad drove over there and made reservations. When he came back, we were all ready packed up. We decided to go on a bike ride to get some exercise and see more of Yosemite. Our day had just begun, and I couldn't wait!

Emmanuel's Visit Day 4

We all woke up late that morning, because we were so tired from the long drive the night before. I brought Emmanuel a chair, the knelt down and helped my dad build a fire. It smoked alot in the beggining, but after it got going, it was nice to be warm. " So what should we do today." Emmanuel asked. I had been here many times before, so I knew all the good places to be. "I heard it might rain today, so lets show Emmanuel the Ahwanee Hotel!" I explained to Emmanuel,"The Ahwanee Hotel is a very fancy hotel, and anyone who wants to, can come in the lounge and sit next to the big roaring fires, and play a game or just sit and read and relax. It's Magnificent!" " But first," my mom said, "why don't we go on the Mist Trail hike to Vernal Falls. Then, when it starts getting dark, we can go to the Ahwanee and relax." Emmanuel and I didn't like that idea as much but we agreed, and soon we were on our way.

Emmanuel's Visit Day 3

When I woke up, my mom was in the kitchen giving Emmanuel his breakfast of cereal. " Honey," my mom said, "Today we're going to Yosemite!" "What! Why didn't you tell me?! That's so exiting!" Your father and I wanted to surprise you." my mom answered. " I alredy packed your stuff sweetie, so just grab a book and we'll go." We all piled into the car for the 8 hour drive that took us to Yosemite National Park.

Emmanuel's Visit Day 2

When Emmanuel woke up that morning, right away, he got into his bathing suit and we went straight down to the beach for an early morning swim. We ran across the soft sand screaming into the water. The waves lashed us like a wip. I was alredy turning numb. "I've never been in the ocean before." Emmanuel shouted over the waves. "Really! How do you like it so far?" I shivered. "I love it! It makes me feel alive!" We took turns screaming until our voices grew hoarse. Then we ran shivering back to our towels, the sand sticking to our wet feet.
A few minuts later, we were at Starbucks, slurping our chocolate Frappucinos. I don't know why we had cold coffee after being in the cold water. It was a really stupid idea, but watever.

Emmanuel's Visit day 1

When Emmanuel got off the plane at 5:00 in the morning, he didn't exactly skip away and beg to go to the beach for a full day of fun. He got in the car and my parents drove him to our house in Santa Barbara, California. There, I helped unload his luggage, which was a meager amount compared to what most Americans would bring from Ghana to CA. After we unpacked, he went straight to bed. Day one of Emmanuel's visit wasn't quite as exiting as I thought it would be.
