This morning I woke up early enough to see the sunrise. It was my first full day in Mareng, Sudan and I was extra exited! I was visiting Panther Bior and his wife, Nyanthiec. I was great friends with Panther already, but I had never met his wife! I wanted to make a good impression so I put in my new hair clips that I had gotten at the airport. Then I dressed and skipped out of the hut. I was ready for a full day in Sudan.

I met Panther outside, sitting with his wife, watching the sunrise. They both turned around. I stopped. She was beautiful! She had dark hair with tiny little braids pulled up in a ponytail. Her hair had a redish tint. She was wearing a yellow dress. She stood up and said in an accent, "my name is Nyanthiec." "Nice to meet you," I said, and shook her hand. "Let me make you some food." she said. And she walked away.

At breakfast, we sat down on the ground and leaned over a mat. For breakfast, we ate some things that I didn't really know what they were but they were good. "We don't have different foods to eat for morning , noon, and night." said Nyanthiec."That would be a waste of food.

Hi. I really really like how In My Visit with Panther Bior 2 that you described what Panthers wife looks like! And you described that her braids were pretty. I also really liked how you said that you sat down on a mat and leaned forward and ate food but you did not know what it was.

Good Google map...I like your opening music...I liked listening to it as I read...new hair clips for Nyanthiec-that made me smile...bet it made her smile too...heck, I think Panther is always smiling—now...sunrise...beautiful description of your meeting with Nyanthiec (I wonder if that name has a meaning)...same foods all day long...no waste...
Anya, I loved hearing your voice describe your visit. You do that well. I loved being able to feel like I was standing in the shadows watching you all smile. My only disappointment was that you weren't able to stay longer. Maybe in Kenya.

Yïn acaa muɔc. You have made me a present (Dinka for: Thank you).
